Hello, since last week my DigiCard no longer works. The “extra” channels that require the card are no longer shown and instead I have the message displayed that is occasionally shown when the card doens’t work / needs to be taken out and re-inserted.

I have tried to remove the card, flip it over, use another slot, restart the device, but to no avail.

I need the DigiCard so that I can record the programs on my Panasonic HDD/BD Recorder. I called the UPC support and they just told me they no longer support the DigiCard, don’t have replacement cards and instead just focused on offering me a new product that I have no interest in. I need to be able to see those channels on my device so I can burn them on Bluray for posterity.

Is there really nothing that can be done please?

If the DigiCard is completely defective, we cannot replace it. In order for us to redeliver the broadcasting rights, we need your customer data (customer number, address and date of birth) via private message.

Please also note that we had a channel change and you may have to do a new channel scan.

DUP I have sent your DigiCard the channel rights again. Can you please test it again in about 30 minutes? If it does not work, please perform a channel scan.

DUP Do you use the DigiCard in German-speaking Switzerland or in Ticino? With which channels do you have an error and what exactly is the error called?

In addition, we ask you to test it again, because we have adjusted something.

Hi Daniele,

unfortunately I am not at home, I can only check tonight. Do we need to arrange that you redo it when I know I can test it within 30 minutes, or can I just check tonight after work?
Yesterday I did update the channel list and redo the whole tuning, and made no change. I will definitely do it again tonight, but hopefully you don’t have to send the rights again tonight?

Hi Daniele, unfortunately it hasn’t changed. I also redid the tuning, took out the card, tried another slot etc, all those channels are still displaying “Encrypter, CAM and Smart Card….”. Anything else you can do please?

Hi Daniele, I use it in Zurich, specifically to look at British channels like BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four/Ceebies, ITV, Channel 4, E4 etc.

I will try tonight again and tell you exactly the error message🙂

The error message is “Encrypted. CAM and Smart Card that are required for this channel are not inserted”.

DUP As a last step we have completely removed your DigiCard from the system and reactivated it. The installation is halfway done. A small part is still missing. Can you please test it again afterwards?

DUP Do you have the possibility to test already now once briefly whether it works? I think the last step of the installation is the billing, which will be processed but only tomorrow.

I tried last night, including a complete re-tuning of the channels and also remove the card, clean it a bit, trying both slots, but still no change. I will try again tonight and pray it will work. Thanks again

Daniele_Sunrise Good morning Daniele, unfortunately there is no change. I was wondering how the issue could have happened, as I didn’t touch the card itself or that holder/cartridge that gets inserted. Is it possible that that holder/cartridge is defective? Certainly I could find that on the internet and unless the actual plastic card from UPC is the problem, it could solve the issue?
I was also thinking, are you sure you are doing the changes on the right card, should I give you the number? Maybe you have a number on file that it’s the wrong one, as I remember my card was changed at least twice over the years.

DUP Unfortunately no, if it must be a solution with the DigiCard, as we no longer have replacement cards.

I recommend a call to our customer service 0800 707 707 so they can offer you an alternative product.
