If you logged in without using “https” and without getting a cert warning, then you most likely still have the old firmware.
Log in, go to Admin / Info and check “Software version”.
If it doesn’t match what it shows in (1) at the top, then you don’t have the new firmware. Apart from the SSL thing (which I personally think is a waste of time 😁 ) Sunrise talks vaguely about performance improvements. They don’t mention security at all.
They do say one can now change LAN IP addresses from 192.168.1.xxx to 192.168.anything.xxx but I doubt many users care.
I’m surprised your router hasn’t been upgraded yet; do you leave it on overnight? Anyway, just check every few days for your own curiosity; there’s no way to speed it up and imo it doesn’t really matter anyway!
