The rollout of the new firmware for the Connect Box 3 is taking place in several phases. The updates are being distributed in stages and are not being rolled out to all devices at once, which is why some connections will receive the new software sooner and others later.
This phased rollout likely serves to ensure the stability of the entire network. If the rollout were to occur on all modems simultaneously, an undetected software bug could, in the worst-case scenario, immediately cripple all devices—and nobody wants that.
There is definitely no preferential treatment for specific customer groups when it comes to these technical updates. All connections are treated equally and receive the new software solely based on their respective allocation within the update waves.
It’s also important to note that this update currently only affects the Connect Box 3. Your modem will install the update automatically overnight as soon as the corresponding wave is rolled out for your region.
