I hope this post helps whoever is going to go through the same hurdles I went through.
Yesterday we move to our new apartment and migrated from Sunrise’s Coaxial to Fiber plan, worked fine, had no issues in that regard.
Then it struck me, the Bridge Mode (Modem Mode) is missing in the Dashboard, I have my own network setup so I have no need for what my ISP provides me except for a working modem.
So I contacted their support and apologetically their technician told me that in the Fiber Version of their Connect Box 3 that feature is not available, wtf?
Well…ended up just port forwarding all ports to my router, what a hassle…
If only my issues stopped here, what I then realized is that they also disable the option to turn off WiFi on their router, yes you can setup a Guest Network and toggle that on and off, but the default 2.4 and 5 WiFi can not be turned off, the elements to do so are disabled in the Dashboard, again…wtf?
As for that…I used Inspect Elements, removed the “disabled” flag on the Input RadioButtons in HTML so I could set both to OFF, Applied Change and voilat! No more WiFi on this router.
I have no idea why both of these features are not accessible to your end user, this is enough of a reason to switch providers, which I will do in 2 years if these aren’t sorted out with a future firmware update.
