Who are these superheroes who actively contribute and share their knowledge every day? Find out more about the superheroes in our blog.
At regular intervals, we will introduce one of our superheroes in our blog. Let’s start with @Michaelhello, who is not only actively involved in the French-speaking Community, but also transcends linguistic borders to contribute to our English and German forums, too.
Four questions for @Michaelhello:
1. What should we know about you?
18 years old – a student at Collège Rousseau, Geneva – Originally from Portugal
Languages: French, Portuguese, English, Italian and a dead language: Latin
2. What is your relationship with technology?
I have always been interested in technology in general. I was born at a time when the great video game consoles were coming out (Playstation, Xbox and Gameboy Color), the development of the Internet was speeding up and Apple was beginning to flourish.
For my third birthday, my parents bought me a Gameboy Color. Later, when I was 11 or 12, I was given my first computer, which worked with Windows XP.
Over the years, I became increasingly interested in new technologies. I became very familiar with them and learned how to make good use of them. In the future, I would even like to work in computers.
At present, I have a computer that works with Windows 7 and two Android smartphones (one that I use and another that is resting in a drawer after 2 years of intensive use). I also have 2 TVs, 1 tablet and lots more besides at home.
Naturally I have certain brand preferences. There is one main brand that I don’t like, even if I admire its founder: Apple. I’m a fan of Samsung and Google. With regards to computers, I have no real preferences but I enjoy assembling my computer myself so that it reflects my personality.
Basically, I grew up with technology and I have seen it grow and grow. And it is continuing to grow with virtual reality headsets, smart TVs, smart cars and so many other things!
I could say so much more as I am also a fan of computer video games and I have to be very familiar with my machine if I want it to work properly with any game.
But I’ll stop there.
3. What do you enjoy doing in particular as a super-hero?
Helping people whenever I can.
4. Where can you be found when you’re offline ?
In general, you’ll find me around the Collège and sometimes on the weekends, in the Old Town of Geneva. Occasionally, I go to Basel with my Latin class. The city has some very nice museums. My summer holydays I often spend in the Portuguese city Porto.
