Hi Daniele,
So I ran my router for a few days without performing a reset and VPN connectivity was better, but my wifi dropped out a lot for approx 1 min at a time, then returned. This seemed to happen at random throughout the day. Today I performed a reset and my VPN connectivity issues seem to be back. Will the reset have rolled back my router setting to IPV6?
I’m now back to hotspotting through my phone which is not ideal.
Is there anything else we can check at this end?

johnydee99 It is very strange that your modem has switched back to IPv6 after a reset. This should not be the case.

For this reason I changed your modem again to IPv4. The changeover is completed in about 30 minutes.

As for your WIFI - you could extend it with boosters or a mesh system so that the interruptions disappear.

Thanks for the updates, today connectivity has been good so far. 🙂
Do I need to perform a router restart?
Last week, I’m not sure signal strength was the issue; my laptop is in the same room as my router and the drop outs were experienced on all devices.
I’ll monitor today and let you know if there are further problems:

johnydee99 Your modem has been switched to IPv4. So you don’t have to do a reset.

johnydee99 No this is not possible. Only we can make the switch back to IPv6 in the system.

Your modem is still on IPv4. Restart your modem once. After that please all switches and hubs / routers too.

Unfortunately I’m having the same problems again this morning
I’ve restarted my router and done a reset, but my work VPN will not connect. All other devices on my network are connected without any problems
Is there anything else you are able to check?

johnydee99 We still don’t see anything that can explain the VPN malfunction. Please contact the VPN provider. We also had a short interruption of the VPN in the company today.

In addition, I recommend you to connect your computer via LAN cable as a test and to test the VPN again. I don’t see any devices that are connected via LAN.

I just tried connecting via LAN cable and I get the same result, “No Internet”

johnydee99 When you plug in the LAN cable, you may have to force a new IP with the CMD command “ipconfig /renew”.

If this is too complicated for you, plug in the LAN cable and restart your computer.

Ok, something just changed and the LAN and wifi are now both allowing the VPN connection.
I’ve no idea what happened, but it seems to be good for now

I’m connected via LAN, but ipconfig /renew returns this:

johnydee99 Perhaps as a addition -with corporate VPN it is important that you log out if you do not use it for several hours.

If I don’t do that, I have to wait about 15 minutes for the VPN server to end my session (timeout). Then I can connect again.
