I did the same swap as you.
It works pretty much the same way - even the firmware (admin pages) is the same, although there’s a long-running bug in that the connected devices can’t be named, and often show as “unknown”.
If you log in and recreate your WiFi network with the same name and password as the old router, all your devices will reconnect. Mine did.
