Giga Connect Box

Hi all,

I’m planning to upgrade my home network and found out that the Ethernet ports on my Giga Connect box aren’t working. I’ve attached a diagram showing the whole scenario and what I’ve tested. (Note that it’s the same result after switching to a different Cat cable.)

Any Ideas what I can do? and/or will I get a new Modem/Router?

    1. Is your ConnectBox in Bridge-Mode?
    2. Is the DHCP and DNS disabled on the COnnectBox, since you are using a pfsense?
    3. In this config, you have a Loop, if the CB and the pfsense booth have dhcp enabled, you will run in problems…

        I think you may have confused this post with another one I made. What I am actually trying to show with the picture is that when I try to connect my laptop (or the pfsense) to the connect box, it does not work.

        For clarification: The cables are not all connected at the same time, it is just a representation:

        pfsense –> laptop = works

        pfsense –> Connect Box = does not work

        Laptop –> Connect Box = does not work

        (where each connection is with an ethernet cable - with wifi everything works fine).

        (but to answer your question:

        1. No, the Connect Box is not in bridge mode.

        2. No, DHCP and DNS are not disabled (can I do that? 🤔)

        3. I would understand this conclusion if all the cables were connected at the same time. )
