Hello,

my VPN connection does not work when I am connected to my UPC home wi-fi or ethernet. It connects to Cisco Any Connect but then I cannot open any browser page on the VPN. It works very well with 4G mobile hotspot or with the work wi-fi. Can you help me address this issue?

    We have made a switch to IPv4 on your modem, which will be completed in 30 minutes. Restart your modem afterwards. If you have problems, reset your modem. Press the reset button on the back of the modem with a pointed object for at least 25 seconds.

    Try it again afterwards.

Thank you for the swift reply. I followed your instructions (including reset) but now I don’t manage to get a internet connection (it says connected, no internet). What is causing the problem?

    Ilona Please open the ports on your router which you need for the VPN:

    VPN Server Ports:
    PPTP
    TCP 1723, Other 47
    OpenVPN UDP 1194
    IPSec UDP 500, UDP 4500

    How to open the ports is explained here. I would also assign an internal fixed IP to your computer, which needs the VPN. You can find the instructions here.

    thank you for the advise and manuals. The fixed IP address is now assigned as well as the Port Forwarding rule. VPN connection gets established but still no internet connection.

    would you have an idea what else could be missing?

      Ilona Do you have any security software in use? If so what kind?

      What VPN / VPN service are you using exactly? What operating system do you have? Do you see nothing in the VPN logs? Do you have error messages?

      We need more information about your system for troubleshooting. 😀
