I am sharing it because I experienced a great frustration with the Sunrise company, more specifically, how their promoters are lying regarding the terms of the contract:
Starting from October 2020 and before ~October 2024, I was using Swype for mobile number with unlimited mobile data, which fully satisfied me. In October 2024, I got a phone call from Sunrise that was promoting me to switch my phone number from Swype to Sunrise, arguing that I have already had an internet contract with them for more than 2 years, and it would be easier for me to pay for everything at once (+ telling me that Sunrise aquired Swype and that everything regarding the phone number and internet would be the same). I knew that I planned to leave Switzerland at the end of summer 2025, and therefore, I informed the promoter about it and told him that it seems to me that I may be eligible for an extra fee if I need to cancel. However, he told me that there would be no fees, and I would be able to terminate it with no problems. After I asked him again a few times about the extra fees and after getting his confirmation multiple times, he said that I just need to confirm to him that I am eager to do it, and I need to send a short sms to Swype that I agree to transfer my phone number.
After I did it, the first problems began. I was promised to send me a new SIM card when my Swype SIM card would be deactivated. However, after two weeks, when the Swype sim was deactivated, I still did not receive a new SIM card from Sunrise. Moreover, I was not able to even call Sunrise support, because I did not have a valid SIM anymore. In mid-November, I received a SIM, but now I was not able to activate because the activation link did not work in the Sunrise cabinet, so I still did not have a working sim. I wrote to the online support here, but it was super slow and noone was able to help normally. (All the time when my SIM did not work, I still had to pay for it and did not get any refund)
Now, I am going to leave Switzerland, and Sunrise is telling me that actually I signed for a 2-year contract when that promoter was calling me in October 2024. So I need to pay an extra fee of 244 CHF for the mobile contract cancellation. The Sunrise promoter was LYING to me all the way, just to make me sign a contract for which I did not have ANY SIGNIFICANT REASON to sign at all.And when I told it to the support and told them to check the phone records (which they usually do) to confirm my words, they told me that they store them only for half a year, so there is nothing can’t be done. And it seems that there is no accountability for it at all, for the actions that look like pure fraud.I am so pissed off about the situation that I am considering seeing to share it everywhere (Reddit, Facebook, Google reviews, etc) and to see if there is any legal action can be taken regarding it.
