Can’t activate a new SIM

Hi all,

I ordered a new SIM to replace my existing eSIM because I’m changing to a device that does not support eSIMs. I received it in the post, but can’t activate it.

I was supposed to receive an SMS but that never arrived (I also noticed that SMSs sent while the phone is off are never received, which does not make any sense at all). If I log into My Sunrise it tells me to click on the link in the SMS to activate it and doesn’t give me any other option. If I scan the QR in the letter that the SIM came with, it says “function not available”. How can something so simple be so cumbersome and frustrating?

A look into the spam folder of the SMS app might help to find the missing activation link. These messages often end up there incorrectly.

If the message remains missing, it is best to contact the hotline:

0800 707 707 / Mon. - Sat. 08:00 - 22:00, Sun. 09:00 - 22:00 to clarify the activation.

Thanks for your quick reply @Cosmo24 . I checked and the SMS wasn’t there, so it was simply not received. I will need to contact the hotline then.

What I don’t understand is how the SIM activation can entirely depend on receiving an SMS.
