Device: Windows 11 PC, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200, MAC address XX.XX.XX.XX.XX
Issue: PC connects to the Sunrise Connect Pod 2 but receives no internet access. Connection works normally when connected directly to the main router or a mobile hotspot.
Symptoms:
- PC shows as connected to Wi-Fi but has no internet
ipconfig reveals an APIPA address (169.254.x.x) instead of a valid DHCP address (192.168.x.x), meaning the pod is not assigning an IP to the PC
- No default gateway is assigned
Troubleshooting performed:
- Full Windows network stack reset (
netsh winsock reset, ipconfig /release, /renew, /flushdns) — no effect
- Rebooting the main router restored connection when PC connected directly to it, but losses connection as soon as it connects to the Connect Pod 2.
- Rebooting the Connect Pod 2 did not resolve the issue
Conclusion: The Connect Pod 2 is failing to assign a valid IP address via DHCP specifically to this PC’s MAC address. The issue is isolated to the pod and is not related to the PC’s network card, software, or the main router. Consequently, my PC’s internet speed has dropped from 200 Mbps to only 30 Mbps now and is having a weak Wifi signal.
