Did you follow the instructions:

Maybe your phone was still using mobile-data and didn’t use the bluetooth connection. I do not know, how to priorities bluetooth over mobile-data. The settings I can see are only for wifi. You could disable Mobile Data the next time you use SBB FreeSurf and see if it makes a difference.
