public IP for VPN

Sto cercando di ottenere l'IP pubblico da Sunrise per impostare VPN alla mia rete domestica. Il supporto tecnico per il telefono afferma che lo ho già e che non sono dietro il CG-NAT, ma l'IP del mio router suggerisce il contrario. Inoltre, il fatto che la VPN non sembra funzioni. Qualche soluzioni?

I’m trying to obtain public IP from Sunrise to setup VPN to my home network. Tech support over the phone claims I already have it, and that I am not behind the CG-NAT, but my router’s IP suggest otherwise. Also, the fact that VPN doesn’t seem to work. Any solutions?

Welcome to the community.

First of all you need to check if you have a public IPv4 or IPv6 address. You can do that by visiting https://www.whatismyip.com

If it only states an IPv4 address you’re fine. If there is an IPv6-address you’ll have to call the hotline again and request a switch to IPv4 only.

Hello and thank you for your reply.
Actually, it seems that rebooting the router moved it from the 100.X.X.X CG-NAT range to a proper public IPv4.
So, to whoever comes across this thread one day, don’t forget to reboot your router…
