DHCP Subnet and Custom DNS

Hello,

My girlfriend recently received the Connect Box 3 Fiber, along side an IPTV box for her TV.

There are 2 issues with the box.

it is not possible to configure a static custom DNS (for example one handled by a raspberry pi)
It is not possible to change the network prefix in DHCP settings (For example from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.37.x)

Both of these things are possible on my Sunrise Internet Box at my own place.

What are the options ? From my research this seems to be impossible on the Connect Fiber Box 3. Can she switch her router for the same one as me ? We’re both on a fiber connection.

P.S, This should really be accessible in the advanced interface on the device. These are basic network configuration requests !

Similar issue trying to set a pre-defined IP assingment. Last octet is only accepting 3-digit number, otherwise getting such an error message: “192.168.1.10 is not a valid IP address.”
However, it’s accepting like: 192.168.1.100 with 3 digits. Looks like validation of IP addresses in the DHCP area is completely broken.

Maybe there is the same issue in the 3rd octet? Maybe try 192.168.100.x with 3 digits…

I have to correct myself: it is working with less digits as well.
The behavior changed between connect box 2 and 3: For 2, the fix IP must be outside the DHCP dynamic range, adn with 3 inside. the dynamic range…

Thanks for your reply. I’m not even able to change the 3rd octet, which I need to as there can be a conflict when using wireguard if the local network IP addresses match (at least i’ve observed this effect). I think if possible we will change the router as this seems to be hardcoded in the device and cannot be changed 🙁
