Hi Daniele,
As promised, I’m writing you the feedback after the technicians visit. It took me a couple of weeks to make sure to identify the root cause. So the technician has measured the input speed at the wall socket, and he got perfect signal and 2GBit+ internet speed. So I had to start the troubleshooting in my own devices and I found the real problem. So the router I used had indeed a 2.5Gbit port, but that was only on the receiving end. All the output sockets were limited to a 1Gbit, so they bottlenecked the internet speed. I bought a 2.5Gbit switch, hooked it up to the router (which now receives the same 2.5Gbit speed and redistributes 1Gbit to the less important devices like PS5, TV, etc…) and also hooked up my PC directly to the switch. Now I can reach the promised 2.5Gbit speed with my PC.
Overall it was my infrastructure bottlenecking the network, but the technician also fine tuned something in the building’s network box which made the signal more stable. So his visit was not in vain.
To all the folks having the same issue, check your modem, UTP cable type, router capabilities if the incoming speed at the wall port is measured to be correct by the tehcnician.
Daniele_Sunrise #7498 Thanks again for the quick answers. Hope my silly case will help others with the same problem.
Best,
