In order to increase the network capacity of our cable network, significant adjustments must be made to the transmission of the television signal on June 4, 2024. For all customers with Sunrise or UPC TV Box / IPTV Box there will also be more channels and more HD. We have compiled the most important information for you.

Channel changes:
4 new channels in the Basic package (Network TV, Juwelo, DF1 and TV Découvert)
1 new channel in the Portuguese package (Canal 11)
2 new channels in the Spanish package (Atreseries& TelehitMúsica)
7 HD upgrades (Fashion TV, Max TV, TV Polonia, ITV 3, ITV 4 only for UPC and Sunrise TV boxes and euronewsD, euronewsF for UPC and Sunrise TV boxes, as well as older UPC TV sets.

What do you need to do if you have one of the following devices?

Sunrise or UPC TV Box / IPTV Box


You don’t need to do anything else, as all changes are automatically applied by your TV Box. You will find the list of new channels and HD upgrades here from June 4.

TV connected directly to your cable connection:

The receivable channels remain unchanged. It may be necessary to carry out a channel scan. Many modern TV models do this automatically. If this is not the case with your TV, please carry out a new channel scan according to your TV’s instructions. If you are asked for a network ID, frequency, modulation or symbol rate during the new channel scan, you can generate this data here.

In the cantons of Lucerne, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Uri and Valais, the channel scan parameters have changed for many customers. Please therefore check whether your parameters are still valid (in most cases, however, reception will still work with the previous parameters for the time being)

Channel scan instructions:
Loewe (only in German language) / Sony / LG (only in German language) / Panasonic (only in German language) / Philips / Toshiba (only in German language)

Digicard

It may be necessary to perform a channel scan. Many modern TV models perform this automatically. If this is not the case with your TV, please carry out a new channel scan according to your TV’s instructions. If you are asked for a network ID, frequency, modulation or symbol rate during the new channel scan, you can generate this data here.

  • If you have the Mini, Starter or Compact channel package, nothing will change.

  • If you have the Classic or Comfort package via a DigiCard you have purchased yourself, this will be converted into a Compact transmitter package. If you are renting the DigiCard, it will be replaced with a TV Box with the same channels..

  • If you have additional channel packages such as MySports, Sports, Premium, Canal+, etc., these channels will no longer be receivable via DigiCard.

Horizon Recorder / Horizon Receiver

You do not need to do anything else for the channel scan, as all changes are automatically adopted by your Mediabox or Horizon Box.

  • If you have the Mini, Starter or Compact channel package, nothing will change.

  • If you have the Classic or Comfort package via a TV Box you have purchased yourself, this will be converted into a Compact channel package. If you are renting the old TV Box, it will be replaced with a new TV Box with the same channels.

  • If you have additional channel packages such as MySports, Sports, Premium, Canal+, etc., these channels will no longer be receivable via Horizon devices.

I am a legacy UPC customer using a upc Mediabox HD. Today I turned my TV on and suddenly I am missing almost all the channels I had yesterday, including channels I pay extra for (Premium). The information on Sunrise help page is confusing as it says an old TV box will be replaced (When? By what?). However, on the UPC page https://www.upc.ch/en/support/television/change/, it says everything will just be updated on my current box, but doesn’t mention if I will lose anything or what exactly is changing. So which is correct? It also says I should not try a manual update until after 12:00. Is that worth trying or have I just lost all my channels without warning?

At the moment, I am extremely annoyed and would like to know how to get all the channels I have back.

If it is the case that I have lost access to most of my channels, I would also like an explanation of why I was never informed about these changes. And how much will I be charged with the reduced channels? I have ZERO information about options or alternatives, or how to change to a Sunrise offer. I checked all my old emails from Sunrise/UPC, and as far as I can tell, I was not informed about any of these changes before today.
