Hello.

I need some advice about this (Connecting a second - older - TV).

As the TV doesn’t support the UPC TV app, I am guessing I need a second TV box?

So, I just have some general high-level questions like:

Is that correct?

What is the cost of the second TV box?

Does the box run off the WiFi, or do I need to connect it “hard” via cable / wire?

(I have the sockets in the wall next to this older TV, but I am not sure they are “live”… do I need another router too?)

Any help / advice would be great,

Yes

What is the cost of the second TV box?
The cost is CHF 10.- for an additional TV box.

Does the box run off the WiFi, or do I need to connect it “hard” via cable / wire?
The box can be connected WIFI or also via LAN cable.

(I have the sockets in the wall next to this older TV, but I am not sure they are “live”… do I need another router too?)
You do not need a second router, but the box must be connected to the cable outlet via antenna cable. If the box does not work or is sealed, we can provide a free technician to repair the box.

I order to a 2nd TV box when I renewed my contract - about 10 days ago.

I just wondered how long it takes to be delivered? (as initially the CSR said “a couple of days”…)

Jonathan257 The reason why the TV box has not yet been ordered is that discounts have been added by the contract department, which will be installed as of 1.10.2023. These discounts prevent an adjustment on the account before 1.10.2023. I have now found a way and triggered the order, which will be delivered in a few days.

So, I have received the 2nd TV box, and plugged it into the TV… and get the following error:

So, I “turn it off & on again” a few times, and then I go to your support website and put that Error Code (CS1011) in,…

And I get the following error on your website… hmm… not so good…

If I was to make an “un-informed guess”… I would ask:

Have UPC updated my account to show 2 TV boxes on it?
What does your support page for error code CS1011 say? (as I can’t use the 2nd box without troubleshooting this problem)
…also, your Q&A testing on your website needs improving…

Is the box connected via Wifi?

Can you, for the first installation, connect the box via Ethernetcable?

No, there is not an easily accessible socket in the room I am adding this 2nd TV box too.
(ie: I would have to take the TV off the wall to access the sockets hidden behind it, and that isn’t easy with a 75″ TV…)

That’s why I am going the “wifi route” for installing this 2nd box…

Jonathan257 I will let check the activation quickly. If it is ok, please connect your TV box via LAN cable for the software update. After that you can connect the TV Box to the WIFI again.

But wait until I get the feedback if the activation is complete. I will get back to you.

Jonathan257 No, there is not an easily accessible socket in the room I am adding this 2nd TV box too.

You could just swap your First Box with the second Box, just for the software update. After that you can move Box 2 back to where it’s gonna be used.

As you didn’t get back to me about the activation yesterday, last night I took @TheSven advice and swapped my new TV box with the old (ie: plugged the new one in via cables / Ethernet).

Anyway, unfortunately that didn’t work… I was still getting the same (above) error code CS1011.

So, @Daniele_Sunrise : Is the box activated?
And, generally… what next?

We are having major Internet problems here in 5512 this morning.

It’s “up & down like a YoYo…”

Is this general to the area?, or something specific to do with the activation changes to our Account?

I tested it this evening, and it now partially works…

The BlueSport App works, but I can only see a few channels on the TV.

Most of the TV channels give me the following CS2004 error:

I would reboot the TV box (hoping this would fix this), but it asks for a password / PIN, and as I have only just received the box, I don’t know the PIN - so I can’t enter it (!)

What does this CS2004 error mean, or more importantly: how do I get the channels?

(and where do I find my PIN?)

Jonathan257 The CS2004 error message means that no antenna cable was connected. This page describes how to connect the TV box. This includes the antenna cable and the network cable LAN (or WIFI).

Can the above problem be solved by connecting my 2nd TV Box to the ethernet cable upstairs?
(even though I didn’t need to do this the first time - the box setup over the WiFi…)

I’ve already activated / setup my TV / linked it to the WiFi - as I posted 4 days ago:
