Dear SunRise/UPC team,
I’ve been encountering some issues with using 2.4ghz Wifi. I have several devices that can only work with 2.4 ghz WIfi, 2 cameras and 2 wifi automatic cat feeders. In the beginning, one cat feeder and two cameras worked fine, then I purchased a new cat feeder of the same model, and internet problems have been nonstop.
At first, I had difficulties connecting the new cat feeder to the router. So I disabled channel optimization. It seemed to work but only for one day. The next day, both cat feeders and one camera can’t connect to the router.
Then I tried to have two separate SSIDs for the two frequencies. It worked for the new cat feeder and two cameras but not the old cat feeder. However, only after half an hour, they all stopped working. At the same time, my phone was unable to join the wifi at 2.4ghz but only 5ghz. So I restarted the router, I was able to join 2.4ghz wifi shortly on my phone, but after I switch to the 5ghz channel, I was not able to switch back. I received the same warning “unable to join XXX”.
Eventually, I changed the channel selection of 2.4ghz to manual and selected 1. Still the old cat feeder can’t connect to the router and my phone was not able to join this frequency, but the rest three devices, 2 cameras and the new cat feeder, work for now.
I wonder if there’s any more setting that I can try to stabilize 2.4ghz wifi? I will go on a long vacation, it’s important to be able to rely on the cameras and cat feeders without worrying they might break down again. Is it the problem with the internet or with the connect box?
Thanks!
