Dear Daniele
Thank you very much for your kind reply. I’ve ran extensive tests and gathered about 50 data points on speed performance over the weekend to try to resolve this problem. I’ve done tests with router, pod via wifi and lan cable. My observation is that while UPC connect app accurately detects Wifi strength, it doesn’t help on speed issues. Therefore I’ve used a high end laptop with a wifi 6 card for accuracy.
After these tests, I have a clear diagnosis of the issue.
- We also obviously have an architectural issue in the apartment as the connection for the router is not in a an ideal location at the apartment.
- The router works fine.
- The problem is the pod. Wherever I locate the pod, even in ideal locations without physical disruption, the POD speed drops to 40-70 mbps while router is at 800 mbps.
Therefore,
- Could it be that the Pod is faulty given we lose 10-20 times speed?
- Would the new WIFI BOOSTER SET (instead of a POD) improve on performance? If so, can we get our POD replaced by a single WIFI Booster? We also lose an electric socket with the POD on a location where electric access is critical.
Given the reasons above, I don’t think an additional pod will help because even a single pod at an ideal uninterrupted location isn’t. Once again thank you for taking care of the community and their problems. You’re by far the most helpful option for a solution in my opinion.
