Hello there.
With my Connect Box since several weeks or maybe even months, I’m experiencing DNS issues.
Whenever I try to connect to a new page in a browser - desktop or smartphone - I got “site unreachable” error. After 2-3 refreshes it goes up again. I tried it with WiFi connection, but also - through another router - with wired connection. With mobile phones I need to hit “Try again” 2-3 times and page pops up. When a page contains links to another domains (like images from CDN) then they are not rendered, only after next refreshes. Then all works fine for a few minutes, until I stop browsing a page. After several minutes the problem occurs again.
It happens on Windows 10 machines, Android and iOS phones.
Whenever I switch to a mobile carrier - all issues disappear - there is an immediate connection to any page. Even on Win10 machines, when share a WiFi from a phone. So no “local” issues.
All “banking” applications need to be used over cell phone, as they mostly close when there are DNS issues.
Ah - when a page is connected, DNS resolved, and connection kept alive - like home office Citrix - no issues anymore. So it’s on DNS level, not TCP/IP level.
When connected directly to Connect Box, I got following result of ipconfig for DNS part in Win:
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 2001:730:3e82::13
2001:730:3e82::12
192.168.1.1
Also my router is still working with IPv6 - so not too much config possibilities in router though.
I also tried to put my secondary router (real home network) to use DNS 8.8.8.8 - but it is also breaking, like either a priority is overruled or a port 53 has some troubles in UPC network (?)
Any ideas? Any help? I ran out of any…
Best regards
Michal
