Hi,

I have 1Gbps (download)/100 Mbps (upload) package. Via Wi-Fi I can achieve max ~500Mbps while my LAN connection is capped at 100Mbps.

I am using Sunrise provided cable CAT 5e (allows 1Gbps speeds) without any switched in between my computer and router.

The 100Mbps speed is displayed on Sunrise > Connected devices > Speed column. From speedtest I get: 85 Mbps/75 Mbps on LAN connection.

Is connection capped at the router level? I would like to use full speed on my ethernet as well.

Please provide your Cnlab Speedtest user ID, so we can check the test.

I am not sure I understand? Going to Speedtest.net and checking any server results in max 100 Mbps via Ethernet connection. Same happens with Fast.com.

Anyway, what does your computer show as connection speed?
What kind of computer is it and what LAN adapter are you using?

The speedtest from UPC seems to be quite useful.

My computer shows LAN 100Mbps speed as well. I have tried on 2 MacBook Pro computers with I-TEC Adapter (USB 3.1 Typ-C, RJ-45, 28 cm) adapter. That does seem to support up-to 1000 Mbps speed… However, I wonder if the adapter is issue as I tried with 2 different LAN cables.

mboch Yes this sounds like an adapter issue. All ports on the Internet Box support 1000 Mbps connections unless a port is broken. I’ve never seen a case where all ports were broken, so you might try a different one on the Box, just to be sure.

Yes, it was adapater issue not being compatible with M1 Macs.

I have the same issue of capped LAN.

I have two adapters (ethernet to USB) for my M1 Mac. In another house, I used to get 1000Mbps over ethernet (with Salt Fiber Box) with both adapters. Now with Sunrise Box, I get just under 100Mbps over ethernet, and around 700 Mbps over Wi-Fi?
Please advise.
