As already mentioned in various community entries we are also facing constant and very short interruptions of our internet connections. Our laptops are disconnected from our WIFI.

We thought the signal was to weak, so we installed a repeater. However, we are facing the issue also when sitting right next to our Giga Connect box. The signal is beeing disconnected and reconnected shortly after again. This leads to the fact, that when having a call for work, this is interrupted and we always have to dial - in again.

The interruptions happen numerous time a day…this morning alone i personally was facing two interruptions and my partner in the same flat had 2-3 breakages of the signa.

Could you please assist.

Try turning off the option which attempts to optimise the WiFi channel. If the router keeps switching channels I can see this resulting in short duration disconnects.

Advanced / Wireless / Signal then “(not so) Smart WiFi”.

Thanks for your reply. I changed the setting yesterday evening.

However i just faced another disruption and the WiFi got disconneted this morning. So apparently the change of the channel optimization was not the root cause.

Any other idea? In previous treads i read something about a bad signal. Maybe somebody from Sunrise/UPC could check that too?

The signal values of your modem are ok.

We have now done the following as a test:
- it has in the 2.4GHz WIFI still 2 other foreign WIFIs on channel 11
- Auto Channelmode was deactivated in the 2.4GHz WIFI
- Channel 1 was set in the 2.4GHz WIFI
- the 5GHz WIFI was activated

We also set your modem to IPv4. The changeover is completed in 30 minutes. After that restart your modem. If you have difficulties, perform a modem reset. Press the reset button on the back of the modem gently with a pointed object for at least 25 seconds.

Hi Daniele

Ich habe nun die letzten Tage nicht über das Signal vom Repeater gearbeitet sondern direkt mit dem Router verbunden und es funktioniert einwandfrei. Es scheint also ein Problem beim Repeater zu geben. Ich versuche das zu beheben.

Kann es sein, dass die WPS Verbindung zum Router immer wieder unterbrochen wird?

Wir können dir nicht bestätigen, ob WPS die Ursache ist. Ggf. würde ich das WIFI manuell konfigurieren und nicht durch das WPS.
