Hi !

A few days ago, after some internet problem my iPhone started telling me that my network is blocking encrypted DNS traffic. Being a bit of a novice I have to idea if it’s normal or whatever, any ideas ?

We were / are not aware of this message until now. In addition, it is an Apple setting, which we can not influence.

But what I found is an explanation, as well as a possible fix. You can read it here. Please let us know if the message disappeared after the fix.

Are you with your modem in the bridge mode and use a separate router?

If yes, do you use an another DNS Server as from UPC?

Intoxikation modem is set as router, and I haven’t touched any settings

Ok so it’s apparently an iOS 15.1 bug ? I reseted my network settings and the message seemed to have disappeared! Will let you know if it comes back

No, it’s not a bug. This “feature” is available since iOS 14.

It’s an anti tracking functionality from Apple side.

Intoxikation yeah but I don’t know why it started popping for no reasons and now that I reseted the settings it doesn’t seem to come back ?
