  • Dear Frida

To freeze the sub-titles AND pause the programme, I was having to use two remotes, the Cablecom remote and the TV remote. Would it be possible for Cablecom to reprogram their remote to simultaneously freeze and pause. See attached my provisional ‘Heath-Robinson’ solution.

    Kind regards

    Dear Frida

I have come up with a simple and, for me, satisfactory get-around to give me a bit of extra time to read the (German) sub-titles. I use the ‘Hold’ on the TV remote. It does a freeze frame which will of course include the sub-title. Although the rolling video is lost for the second or so, the audio continues normally.

Thank you for your time and help in working with me on a solution to my sub-title reading problem.

    Kind regards

  • Thanks for the suggestion Frida but I also have a satelite receiver with a two channel recorder so another recorder is not really justifiable🙂

  • Dear Frida

Thanks for the lucid explanation. You say in ‘live’ mode. Is there a way round this then that a not ‘live’ mode can be used to allow pausing with sub-titles continuing to be displayed?

    Kind regards

  • Good afternoon

Yesterday I installed my replacement Mediabox (a Cisco) and was disappointed to learn that it did not now allow two simultaneous recordings (except in stand-by). I am surprised you have downgraded the new product. Is there an option for this that I’m not aware of?

  • Good afternoon

When sub-titles are switched on and I pause to try and read the sub-title, it disappears. I need the extra time to read sub-titles when the programme is in a foreign language (e.g. German). This happened on the old MediaBox and still happens on the new one I received yesterday (a Cisco). I have put in about three improvement requests over the passed three years for this not to happen and it still does!🙁
