We have a new Phillips Smart Tv. We wish to use Cablecom basic TV.(without Internet)  When I start the Tv it searches for channels and asks to be connected to a router.   I cannot see where to put in the Network ID and Frequency.

Please help me to set the new TV up. Many thanks.

Hi @vivrog,

So, your television is a Philips 32PFK6500/12 Android TV compatible with DVB-T/DVB-C/DVB-S and S2.

I also read that one must make sure that the TV is Certified for the Provider. Cablecom gave me our Network ID 43016 and our Frequency of 410 Mhz. but I absolutely cannot find where to type this in.

Any help very welcome!

Yes, I also found this information : “The television can take in charge the DVB reception for the free channels. Some DVB providers could not be taken in charge. You can find the list updated in the F.A.Q on the Philips’s assistance website.”

I will give you the steps to install the channels. But before, check if the cable is plug-in to the Antenna socket (not the Dish socket) of your TV and to the 3-1 cable connection of upc cablecom (TV socket and not Radio socket).

To install channels :

  1. Press  on the remote control.

  2. With the arrows  , select  SETUP (CONFIGURATION), then press ‘OK’.

  3. Select the option SEARCH FOR CHANNELS and press ‘OK’.

  4. Select UPDATE CHANNELS or REINSTALL CHANNELS and press ‘OK’.

    1. Use the arrows   to select the country Switzerland, then press’OK’ to confirm.

    2. Choose Cable in the installation mode and press ‘OK’.

      • CABLE, the television will detect the signals transmitted by upc cablecom. It will be here that you have to add the infos that upc cablecom gave you.
  5. Select START and then press ‘OK’ to start the automatic programmation.

  6. The menu will be replace by a progress bar during the installation. Some infos will appear like the number of channels/radios found

  7. When the installation is finished, press ‘OK’ ; your television will close the automatic menu and maybe restart to complete the installation

Thanks for your quick reply. Our new smart TV is Phillips 32PFK6500/12.    I have read through all the Phillips instructions online but cannot get the Tv to work.

For our main TV, an older one , we now have new Swisscom TV with box attached to the router. This works.

As for our second TV in the bedroom the signal according to the technician was not strong enough where we live to link it to the router by Wlan neither with Powerline nor Connecting Kit, so he suggested we go back to Cablecom as previously.  The Manager of our block has confirmed that she spoke with Cablecom to reinstate our old Abbonnement.

To explain the problem, I have attached the cable at the back of the TV in Antenna. When the TV asks for what I wish to connect to….I respond wired…/cable…but then the TV insists on searching for a router in order to find channels.

I also read that one must make sure that the TV is Certified for the Provider. Cablecom gave me our Network ID 43016 and our Frequency of 410 Mhz. but I absolutely cannot find where to type this in.

Any help very welcome!
