  • On March 11, 2025, a TV Change Day will take place, which will result in a major change for our UPC customers with old UPC products. With this change, we are freeing up network capacity so that Sunrise can continue to offer first-class and reliable network quality and speed in the future.

    The most important facts in brief:

    - UPC Horizon Box customers are facing the biggest change with this Change Day. The TV service of the Horizon Box will be completely discontinued.

    - For customers with an old UPC Digicard or Mediabox, the number of available channels will change depending on the channel package.

    - Customers with a UPC cable connection can look forward to benefiting from additional channels (channels directly via cable socket).

    Horizon TV Box:

    Customers with a UPC Horizon Box have already been asked in the past to switch to Sunrise TV because their TV Box is outdated. This week, affected customers will receive a further notification informing them that their Horizon TV Box will no longer work for the TV service after 11.03.2025. For further information and to migrate to our Sunrise products, we recommend contacting UPC customer service on 0800 66 88 66.

    DigiCard:

    The following channels will be switched off and will no longer be available after the change day:

    - Kabel eins HD
    - NITRO HD
    - n-tv HD
    - ProSieben HD
    - RTL HD
    - RTLZWEI HD
    - SAT.1 HD
    - Super RTL HD
    - VOX HD

    The following channel is new: (except in Biel)
    - K-TV HD

    🚨 The signaling will be stopped and the TV sets will interpret this in different ways. It could mean that the screen goes black or that the channel is skipped and is no longer visible. It is not necessary to start a new channel scan.

    Mediabox:

    The following channels will be reduced from HD to SD:

    - Kabel eins
    - NITRO
    - n-tv
    - ProSieben
    - RTL
    - RTLZWEI
    - SAT.1
    - Super RTL
    - VOX

    🚨Mediaboxes will continue to receive the same channels in the same slot, but the quality will be reduced from HD to SD. No channel search is required and the change takes effect automatically.

    Basic TV / TV direct from the socket:

    The following channels (today only available in HD) will be added in SD quality:

    - ProSieben MAXX
    - SAT.1 Gold
    - Sixx

    The following channel will be removed:

    - Eurosport 1 (This channel will be moved to IP TV.)

    These stations will be removed from the line-up as part of the Change Day on March 11.

  • As of today, a new function is available that automatically adapts the channel list to the menu language set on the TV Box, based on the respective Swiss regions.

    For example, if you speak French and live near Zurich, you were previously confronted with a German channel list, even if the language of the TV box was set to French. Of course, you could create a new profile and customize your own channel list to move the French channels to the preferred positions.

    With the new function, this step is no longer necessary.

    If your TV box is set to French, you will automatically receive the French channels (default profile) in the first positions, regardless of which region of Switzerland you are in. If you set it to Italian, the Italian channels will appear in the first positions. We have also created a special channel list (standard profile) for English-speaking users, which shows the BBC channels at the top of the list.

    danke für die Frage - ist mir aufgefallen!

    extrem mühsam, wenn man kurz in die Küche ‘umrühren’ will und es doch länger geht oder ein Telefon annimmt.

    Ich mache diese Beobachtung beim Replay wie auch bei den Aufnahmen und finde es extrem mühsam ….

    Mir ist aufgefallen, dass wenn ich etwas im Live-TV anschaue und dann die Wiedergabe stoppe, das Programm nach einer gewissen Zeit von allein wieder weiterläuft, ohne dass ich auf Play drücke. Ob das auch bei Replay-TV ist kann ich gerade nicht sagen. Aber warum ist das überhaupt so?

  • Heute kam der Techniker von Cablegroup und hat das Problem gelöst. Mit dem Signalanalysator-Messgerät für CATV hat er schnell festgestellt, dass der Rückweg nicht geht. Den TV-Verstärker (Cablecom CV8120P) geöffnet und siehe da, das Rückwegmodul fehlte. Gleich einen neuen TV-Verstärker installiert, hat aber immer noch nicht richtig funktioniert. Übergabepunkt (HÜP) kontrolliert und siehe da, ein Rückkanal-Blocker war eingebaut. Das habe man früher, zu Internet-Anfangszeiten oft gemacht. Nach Entfernen des Rückkanal-Blockers endlich ein vernünftiges Signal, dieses noch sauber eingepegelt, danach die beiden Breitband-Dosen für den Router sowie die TV-Box gemessen.

    Tja, das Haus wurde vor über 20 Jahren gebaut und mit Cablecom erschlossen, die Kabel-TV Dienste aber nie genutzt. Daher ist es nie aufgefallen.

    Jetzt läuft alles tip-top.

    Der Cablegroup-Techniker hat einen super Job gemacht. Fachlich kompetent, sehr freundlich und hat effizient gearbeitet. Vielen Dank!

  • Just to close this discussion. I called Sunrise support and changed my Internet setup from IPv6 to IPv4 and it did solve all my SAP application disconnection issues.

    • adrianlondon The first step we have just taken is to replace your modem. You will receive the new modem in the next few days. Please replace all cables and the power supply unit with the new ones in the packaging. Please contact us again afterwards to see if the cause is still present.

      Translation possibility:
      In the future it will be possible, if you have the GUI in English and then display the content in German, to translate the original request, as well as the comments into your GUI language (which is set).

      If you now open a German content thread, you will have the option to translate it into your GUI language below:

      Sorry but I haven’t used this forum before so I was waiting for an answer here rather than keep testing my box.. next time I will know.

      I usually only watch shows on Replay and this change has made a lot of the BBC1 programmes unwatchable.

    • Hi same issue here on recorded bbc master chef and strictly (from last Saturday 9th) can live with it on master chef, but audio description of dancing is more intrusive. Haven’t seen any update if they have fixed the problem

    • I have the same issue.. I haven’t tested it on live TV, but on my recorded BBC1 programmes I have Audio Narration on and it is really really annoying. I have switched off AD from the Settings on the box and on my TV, but it doesn’t make any difference.

      Sunrise, how can we solve this please?
