How long will I be able to keep using my Fritzbox (rather than switching over)? What are the advantages to switching, given that at the moment everything is working fine (with the exception of the new daily 5-minute interruption of internet service)?

    You really don’t have to switch modem, you can keep the fritzbox.
    Did you get a letter where it says that you should switch modem? Because normally you don’t have to switch anything as long as you don’t have any issues with them.
