Does Sunrise really throttles down internet speed in all services (for example: Netflix, Youtube and etc) but when you do an internet speedtest on those sites: Ookla speedtest, nPerf, then speed is not limited.
I’ve done some testing and result are pretty interesting. When you doing a direct speedtest on ookla website. Speeds are averaging between 510-530mbps in my location. But when I turning on iCloud Private Relay (Proxy), speeds are now averaging between 260-300mbps (although Cloudflare, Fastly and Akamai servers where Apple is hosting their proxy are more then capable to do 3gbps constantly).
I then did some testing through my own server (on Sunrise network, 10gbps fiber), and result are also lower then on Ookla website, averaging 180-200mbps. I then turned on iCloud Private Relay and done a speedtest to my server and results came a bit better, 260-300mbps (and test with proxy is better then a direct connection to my server on same provider Sunrise), but not more than 300mbps.
Previously I was by Galaxus Mobile (Sunrise Network) and I didn’t encounter any similar issues. But when I came to Sunrise, I’ve seen a drop in speed. It’s probably a time to reconsider my choice.
Also I’m using a Swiss Connect Neighbors plan, which includes 2gbps down and 300mbps up internet connection.
All test were done at 2 am. So no “peak hours”.
