So I’m turning to the community to see if anyone else has had this issue. I’ve moved apartments and the sunrise reception in my new Apartment is terrible and so I decided to cancel my contract with Sunrise. I went ahead and cancelled my contract with sunrise in June and they told me there is a two month cancellation period, which I said I was happy to wait out.
Shortly after this, I signed up for a new subscription with Galaxus Mobile telling them I’d like to put my number in On the 28.8 as agreed with sunrise to be the cancellation date. Sunrise accepted this and I did nothing further.
Yesterday, I decided that I did not want Galaxus mobile as the plan doesn’t really suit my needs with my new job. I asked Galaxus to cancel the new subscription and subsequently also the port, and today signed up with Wingo.
I asked Wingo to put my number on the 28.8 as previously organised with Galaxus, as this is the two month date. Now sunrise is trying to tell me that because I cancelled the port, that automatically cancelled my contract termination which means that I now have to wait another two months or pay the termination fees.
Based on what I can find, this is actually illegal as I have not opted in for a new contract with sunrise and I have not cancelling ahead of the two months, I’m simply keeping the two months but deciding to use a different provider. Has anyone else have this issue?
