Whatsapp calls over wi-fi constantly interrupted

Hi,

When I try to make a WhatsApp call (connected to my UPC Wi-Fi) the connection keeps failing. I can speak for a few seconds and then WhatsApp goes into “Reconnecting” after a few seconds I can hear and speak again - and then it does the same thing.

As soon as I disconnect from Wi-Fi and use mobile data, this issue does not happen. Is there something wrong on my settings that I need to change?

@lukeneves , You are still welcome to try to connect your devices to the 5GHz WIFI. Also try to restart your modem shortly before.

Hi Daniele,

Thanks for the quick reply. I changed the Wifi 5ghz name and all devices are set to 2.4GHz - tried a call and in 5 minutes it did the same “Reconnecting” issue 3 times (albeit shorter time to regain the signal back than I experienced before we changed the settings).

Should I try placing the devices on 2.4 & 5ghz as well and see how that goes?

@lukeneves , Welcome to the community!
I have changed your modem to IPv4 for testing purposes. Both your WIFI networks (2.4GHz/5GHz) have the same name. Please try to rename for example the 5GHz WIFI and add a _5GHz at the end. Then you connect to the 2.4GHz. Does it work better?
