In August 2019 I decided to switch ISP to UPC. Did everything thru Mobilezone and received a confirmation from UPC. The “Gewünschtes Lieferdatum” was 31.10.19 because my contract was from 1.11.19.
As I had heard exactly NOTHING from UPC by 31.10, I called them. A very friendly lady told me that the equipment had been dispatched on 31.10 and I would receive it on 1.11. Okay …
Shortly after 12 noon on 1.11 I had received precisely ZERO equipment. Had no internet, no landline and no TV (so I missed All Blacks vs Wales).
I called again.
The customer representative that answered my call indicated that it could take up to three working days for the equipment to be delivered. Fortunately Saturday is considered a working day. So, for my contract for which I have to pay from 1 November, I might actually have internet, tv and fixline on 4 November!
The customer representative also implied that I was at fault for this delay. Apparently I should have specified that I want the contract that starts on 1 November to ACTUALLY start on 1 November. UPC was completely innocent in this matter and life would be much better if they didn’t have so many **bleep** customers.
And here I am, using my cellphone (Swisscom Abo) as a hotspot. I cannot do e-banking, watch the Rugby World Cup final, etc., etc.
I am locked into a 12 month contract with UPC and I will honour it. But unless there is a radical shift, it will not be a single day longer than that. On top of it, I will broadcast my UPC experience far and wide so that other innocents (as I used to be) will not be taken in by this incompetent company who cares not a jot for its customers.
