mediabox will just run 1-2 minutes the most and shuts off by intself

i switch on the mediabox using the remote control. mediabox interacts with the remote control for just about 10 seconds, after that the remote control is useless and soon after the tv screen will turn black/blank. then a text “Load >>” shows up on the box’s screen and seconds later it switches off. i called the upc IT support and i was told to upgrade my box. wow! i had it installed like 5 or 6 years ago!
