Sorry for late response…
Hi, i have “some stars”, rpi’s, mac’s, nuc’s with labs from gns3…
those days that the CPE is with fatigue i can allways connect to him even from the outside and reboot it….
here goes a weird, well not so weird, event that happened before that behavior….
In August, more or less, there was a big thunder and a lightning stroke really near the building, even i just jumped, i had the tv, router, box, and 2 rpi’s connected, the 2 raspi’s were connected to those ikea multi current feeders, with 2 usb sockets that i used to power the rpi’s, i also had a trip of leds lighted on, with a power supply, Chinese one, ….
at that moment of the lightning, current just failed for a split second, after that moment those 2 usb port from the ikea power went dead, i had 1 rpi3 and 1 rpi3+, the rpi3+ went dead, the power supply from the leds went dead and the CPE, started to have a different behavior, on 5Ghz wifi i cannot connect my macbook pro, the wifi bridge that i have in a spare room where i have some equipment, i work in network engineering, sometimes lowers the connect speed a lot, and after some checking i realize that was the upc cpe, that was building some fatigue, after a reboot on it everything started to work normally…
conclusion is, that lightning strike was so clise that created an EMP effect, some died, 1 rpi3+, 2 usb sockets and 1 led power supply, some started to have drunk like behavior like the UPC CPE…

Moises Teixeira
