We recently changed from our Horizon box to the new Giga Connect Box. Everything works just fine EXCEPT the fan noise. The fan is so loud that it really disturbs us, this cannot be right. Anybody faced the same problem? Any tips or tricks? Shaking the box did not help. 😉

@Alxgu , We have initiated a modem replacement. You will get a replacement in the next days. Please replace all cables and the power supply.

@Daniele_Sunrise our Connect Box is now nearly constantly activating the fan at all times. It has enough space, is in a cool environment and airflow is fine.

I’m now fearing that it will stop working anytime. Would it be possible to replace it?

@Daniele_Sunrise Was there a resolution to this? We have a similar issue:

- The noise from the fan is really loud & persistent at times.

- The box is completely freestanding in a ventilated room.

- The noise of the fan has been there since we got the box in summer, it didn’t get any better now in the winter when temperatures are generally lower.

I’m worried that box has some defect and will die eventually.

Preferrably we could get a replacement box before that will happen.

The fan starts to turn up if the modem has insufficient air above and below, or if it is stored in a piece of furniture and therefore the heat increases. Where exactly is your modem positioned?
