Has anyone successfully used the “basic internet” service? Through the condominium fees I pay 39,90 Fr per month for a “cable connection”.
According to https://www.upc.ch/en/support/basic-digital-offer/
“All of this [the basic digital offer] is already included in your cable connection” and “An active cable connection from UPC allows you to make full use of our basic digital offers at no additional monthly subscription cost.”
I am able to use the cable connect for the basic TV described, but I would like to use the basic internet connection as well (I know it’s not fast, but it’s included and it’s enough for what I want). I called customer service and was told it doesn’t exist and the only thing is to get an internet subscription. After the customer service agent insisted that it was the only way, I relented and agreed to the 49,00 service at 100 MBit/s. But immediately after the call searched on the site and found that he was not truthful (or just uninformed) and called back to cancel the order. This time the customer service person said it was possible but “now” it would take 10 days to cancel the order and then send the modem for the basic service.
Has anyone successfully used the basic internet service? What tricks did you have to use to get them to send you a modem or did you get your own modem? Were you able to do it directly or did you have to have the condomimium admin (in whose name the contract is) order it? The site has frustratingly little information on this included service…
Thanks for any info,
