the point is SRF1 is only that one channel in Switzerland. So if you would receive the SRF1 channel in northern america, its the one you see in Switzerland.
Discovery and History are more like a group of channels unter the same name broadcasted in different countrys.
in the US for example you can watch the us version of Discovery - in english!
But in Switzerland there is the German, French or Italian Version of Discovery - depends if your life in DCH, FCH or Ticino.
And if you receive the German Discovery the language is mainly in german and you see the german version of Discovery.
Its for shure the same channel logo and name but the channel is dedicated to the german speaking europe and has a different programming than the US one. And in that case it’s also transmitted in german. A english broadcast is not a must then.
So upc cablecom can only give you Discovery in englisch if Discover Germany (or France/Italy) broadcasts in english to.
