Finally there is live motorsport again! DTM and Formula E live on MySports from 1 August
**On the weekend of 1-2 August 2020, the German Touring Car Masters DTM will start late into the current racing season at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. In addition, only three days later, the Formula E pilots will also switch from the virtual to the real cockpit to complete six of the remaining races of the current championship at the Tempelhof airfield in Berlin by 13 August. Although no spectators are allowed, MySports will be there live.

The 2020 DTM Championship comprises of a total of nine race weekends, each with two races. At the Lausitzring, at the Nürburgring and in Assen, the Netherlands, there will even be two consecutive race weekends, i.e. a total of four races each. On 1 and 2 August, the drivers will start on the Ardennes circuit in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, where the DTM was last staged 15 years ago. The total of 16 drivers includes two Swiss drivers, Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) and Fabio Scherrer (WRT Team Audi Sport), with Müller competing for overall victory with clear ambitions.
DTM: All races and qualifying sessions live
Until the DTM season finale on ⅞ November 2020 at the Hockenheimring, MySports will comment live on all races and all qualifying sessions (German: Matthias Röthlisberger and Herbert Zimmermann, French: Jérôme Beuchat and Jacques Lesquereux). The commentators will be supported by Le Mans winner and FIA World Endurance Champion Marcel Fässler at individual races. The coverage is supplemented by exclusive portraits of the Swiss drivers, information and reviews of the DTM’s turbulent times. It starts on the weekend of 1-2 August 2020 with the qualifying sessions at 10:40 and 10:50 on MySports One.
Formula E Season finale in Berlin
The DTM will take three months to choose this year’s champion, but Formula E is going full throttle in this respect. In the period from 5 August to 13 August, the electric racing series will conclude its championship in the German capital Berlin. The races will be held at the Tempelhof airport grounds on three different track layouts as so-called double headers: on ⅚ August, on 8/9 August and finally on 12/13 August. MySports will also comment on all the races and all qualifying sessions live (German: Herbert Zimmermann, French: Jérôme Beuchat andJonathan Filion). For the final decision on 12/13 August, Gabriel Gasser and a camera team will capture the atmosphere in Berlin and report on how it feels: Motor sports in times of Corona.
Prelude for a hot autumn
So the starting flag for the long-awaited comeback of live motorsport will already be flying on MySports next weekend. At the station, we are relieved and, at the same time, highly focused on getting the best out of the remaining races. Matthias Krieb, responsible for MySports at UPC, explains: “After we could prove that we can also successfully master a time without live sports thanks to a variety of our own formats, we and our viewers are eagerly awaiting the time when live sport will finally start again. Motor sport is merely the prelude to a variety live programmes from a wide range of sports during the second half of 2020. Motorsport offers an ideal connection to UPC’s ultra-fast and reliable giganet as well as to the network structure of the MySports partners”.
