Starting on 3 August 2020, UPC is gradually introducing Voice over LTE, also known by its abbreviated name VoLTE. Customers with newer iOS devices can already now make calls over the 4G mobile network.
UPC with its fast and reliable UPC Giganet is a leading Swiss telecommunications provider and for about six years has also been connecting its customers everywhere with its attractive mobile subscriptions. Thanks to its attractive offers and Switzerland’s strongest mobile network, UPC has established itself as an increasingly popular mobile provider. This is especially reflected in the customer satisfaction: UPC Mobile consistently gets top ratings from its customers.
With VoLTE the voice quality is improved and the call connection is faster, and this technology also brings further advantages for customers. Among other things the technology saves energy and thus conserves battery power, since the smartphone stays continually connected to the 4G/LTE network.
“We are always optimising our products to meet customers’ needs. Our unique and extremely high-performance UPC Giganet delivers 1 Gbit/s Internet in the entire coverage area and is much appreciated by our existing customers. The UPC Mobile offers are the perfect addition to our product portfolio and are highly recommended by more than 80% of our customers. Thanks to the VoLTE launch, our customers can now save energy and make better-quality calls with a faster call connection on the most-used mobile network in Switzerland,” says Stefan Fuchs, Chief Commercial Officer at UPC.
VoLTE will be introduced gradually. UPC customers with 4G/LTE capable iOS devices can activate the technology in the smartphone settings and use it immediately. Calls with VoLTE incur no additional costs and are billed as normal calls according to the UPC Mobile subscription. Devices with Android operating systems will follow in the second half of 2020.
