**MySports is pleased to announce that the entire range of sports channel packages is now also available to Swisscom customers. As of today the channel’s range has increased by 1.55 million households across Switzerland.
**
With the distribution agreement which was announced in July and has now been implemented, a total of more than 3.3 million households in Switzerland can now receive the full MySports offer via their TV provider. For CHF 25 a month, subscribers can watch all the matches from the Swiss Ice Hockey National League live and exclusively – from the regular season to the play-offs. Plus numerous other games from top international ice hockey, the Swiss League and the Swiss national hockey teams. Many other sports events as well as a number of popular sports channels such as Eurosport 1 and 2 HD, Sport1 + HD and Sportdigital Football round off the subscription offer. Individual access to live events and additional features via the MySports app will also be available to Swisscom customers at a later date.
Milestone for MySports
In the 3 years since its launch, MySports has established itself as the “Home of Hockey” and, with its young team and a refreshingly different type of reporting, has created big waves on the Swiss TV sports landscape. Year after year, increasing subscription numbers and market shares confirm that the chosen concept is on the right track. The station aims at a predominantly younger, more affluent target group.
With the now significantly increased range, the channel will be even more attractive for advertisers and sponsoring partners. For Matthias Krieb, responsible for MySports at UPC, today’s date marks a very important milestone: “Three years after the launch of MySports, we can now reach almost all Swiss TV households. This gives us a solid platform to continue investing in the growth of MySports. In addition to the great MySports team at UPC, I would particularly like to thank our founding partners of the Suissedigital Association of Cable Network Operators and our main licensor, the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. The trust of these strategic partners has made it possible for us to get the project off the ground successfully. "
UPC’s response to today’s COMCO decision
UPC and MySports also took note of the decision of the Federal Competition Commission (COMCO), published on 20 October 2020. UPC disagrees with COMCO’s decision regarding exclusive ice hockey rights and will therefore file a challenge before the Federal Administrative Court. The agreement with Swisscom, which was implemented and communicated today, was concluded in summer 2020 after several months of negotiations.
