The beginning of a new era!
The UPC Community will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year. On the occasion of these festivities, we decided to give our beloved community a completely new look with a fresh concept. In the following article, we are happy to share the details of the new platform with you, take a look behind the scenes and also allow ourselves a little shot of nostalgia by briefly summarising our history and career and discussing what the community has achieved so far.
First things first
On the 6th of January 2021, the current community will go into read-only mode. This means that no new posts can be written in the meantime until the go-live on the 11th of January 2021. However, the existing content can still be accessed. During this phase, the community data will be uploaded to the new platform so that you can still access the existing discussions and topics in the future.
In order for the transition to go smoothly, we also need your support. If you would like to continue using your existing profile, it is mandatory that you click the Forgotten Password button when you first log in to the new platform. This will initiate the process where you can link your existing community email address to the new platform. Otherwise you run the risk of having your profile deleted.
Review
The UPC Community was launched in July 2011. As indicated in detail, next year we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Community. That’s a long time, which has been accompanied by a lot of experience. However, the continuous development of the platform is now entering a new phase, where we would like to take you on another promising journey after the launch of the current platform in August 2015.
We proudly look back on a community that has grown over the years to around 30 thousand users and has achieved a top trend with an average growth of around 400 new users per month in the last quarter alone.
If we extend the review period to the last 5 years with today’s community, we see that our users, moderators and experts have contributed to over 3000 accepted solutions, which have been viewed by the community almost 2.5 million times. Together with the rest of the content of the UPC community, this brings us to over 15 million page views. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the platform and look forward with great hope to the release of the new UPC Community, where we will once again help and support each other and create unforgettable moments. All aboard. We weigh anchor!
