Can receive but not send and my delete button has disappeared to be replaced with a archive button

Could you please explain in detail which problems you’ve faced? Any error messages? Does it work on webmail?

The thing with the button sounds like you are using the Apple Mail App. There is a configuration option where you can adjust the buttons and set delete instead of archieve. Please check with the apple support pages: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208661
