I just want to share my experience with UPC Connect Box and Gigabox.
I’ve used to have 600Mbps internet plan with the Connect Box and I never got the real speed. After an issue, the Connect Box entered in Safe mode and had to be replaced.
After the replacement, everything was ok but after a while the internet started to slowing down again. To solve the problem, I’ve been offered 1Gbps with the new Giga Box.
As usual, it all starts great, but after some time the slowness started over. So, last Friday, the 18th December, I’ve decided to reboot the box and guess what? After that, the internet stopped. I can’t access it via wireless or via ethernet, so I cannot see what is happening. Rebooting, resetting, nothing helps.
After 1 chat and 3 unhelpful calls, which btw I had to wait 35min to be answered, they said that they are going to send a technician to my home.. on 28TH December!! Yes, that’s right, they said that there is nothing to do and I will have to stay 11 days without internet. 🙂
Now, I have travels planned and lots of home automation that won’t work because the internet doesn’t work. What to do? Easy, pay more money to another company to offer a temporary internet - it is just ridiculous!
That is just frustrating that the routers can’t handle a single reboot and the support is so inefficient.
