Hi,

For several weeks, even months I am having a very unstable WIFI connection. Over Lan it is fine, but the internet on the WIFI has frequent interrumptions. It is not device specific, happens in several devices: Mac desktops, W10 Laptops, iOS/Android devices.

It is quite similiar to the one reported here:

I am not sure which one is the one which worked (change to ipv4 or disabling Wi-Free), but I would start asking in how to disable Wi-free to check if it helps with the stability.

Actually, I have just deactivated myself. It can be done at MyUPC - Services - Internet. I will check if with this change I experience an improvement.

Honestly, in 5+ years as a customer, I have used Wi-free 0 times. On the other side, I am working from home since March becasue of COVID and I cannot afford dropping from conf calls everyday more than once because of this.

I hope the support team can offer me a solution soon.

Think twice before disabling Wi-Free., I find it very useful if I lose internet connection.

Either it’s a problem just with me (router/modem, cabling, wiring etc.) and hence I can get back online using a neighbour’s connection via Wi-Free, or when I try to connect to theirs I get a user/password error which implies they’ve also lost internet access. That’s comforting as I then know I didn’t break anything and that multiple people have lost internet hence UPC are likely to notice and fix it 🙂

Of course, if disabling Wi-Free fixes your problem then keep it off as the trade-off is worth it!
