Hi,
I’m hoping someone has seen this before because I’ve never encountered anything quite like it.
I have a Sunrise Connect Box 3 on a new fibre connection.
The problem is that I cannot get the main Wi-Fi network to operate correctly on 5 GHz. It appears to work only on 2.4 GHz.
What’s strange is that the Guest Wi-Fi can broadcast on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz without any problem.
I’ve tried enabling/disabling the radios, applying settings multiple times and rebooting the router, but the behaviour remains the same.
So the hardware is clearly capable of transmitting on 5 GHz, because the Guest network does so successfully. It just seems that the main SSID refuses to.
Has anyone seen this before?
Connect Box 3
Sunrise fibre
Latest firmware (as supplied by Sunrise)
Main SSID appears limited to 2.4 GHz
Guest SSID broadcasts on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
I’d be interested to know whether this is a firmware bug or whether there’s some obscure setting I’ve missed.
I’m reasonably confident this isn’t simply a configuration mistake.
Thanks.
