Frequent spikes in jitter during online gaming

Dear Sunrise community

I have just recently received the Up Home L 2.5 Gbit with the Connect Box 3. Unfortunately, while playing games online, I experience frequent stutter and jitter spikes even on LAN. I have “upgraded” from Yallo (Connect Box 2) in the hopes of not having to deal with this anymore but it seems that the problem is still here.

Additionally, how do I acquire a longer “B Type” cable - 10 meters to be specific?

Any help, suggestions or explanations I would be very grateful for.

After some testing in Counter Strike 2 (which has a jitter up&down graph during gameplay) still looks the same. Granted, it is not as bad as it was with the Connect Box 2 from Yallo, but the issue persists.

destined If I’ve counted correctly, I can see three PCs. Two of them are connected via Wi-Fi, but one isn’t. Do you use Wi-Fi for CS:GO (2)? If so, please make sure you connect the PC via an Ethernet cable for competitive games, as Wi-Fi has too much latency for competitive gaming.

Daniele_Sunrise Thanks for checking - I use ethernet on my PC, while two others in the household are connected via Wi-Fi.

destined Everything looks fine on Signal’s end, and I can’t see anything that might explain the lag.

Is the PC’s LAN cable connected directly to the modem, or are there other devices in between, such as switches, hubs, routers, wall sockets, powerline adapters, USB-to-LAN adapters, etc.?

Daniele_Sunrise It is connected directly to the modem. Modem>PC Realtek 2.5gb family controller.

If everything looks fine, perhaps I should try to check my Settings or reset the network through Windows 11.

destined Are all your drivers up to date? Do you use an antivirus programme, and if so, which one exactly? Otherwise, I’m running out of ideas.

Daniele_Sunrise My drivers are up to date yes. It’s interesting how CS2 is jittery and Marathon (rare jitters) but PUBG is completely fine. At the risk of stretching this thread out I have two questions:

Is there anything I could do/provide/measure that could shed light on this issue?
Why do certain parts of the PLZ 8486 not have fiber even though seemingly infrastructure has been installed?
