Hi everyone
I recently switched to Sunrise after moving apartments. Before that I was with Salt on a 1 Gbit/s fiber connection and regularly got close to the full speed, so I know how the connection should normally feel.
Since switching to Sunrise, something seems off. Even directly connected via LAN to the router, I usually only get around 100–300 Mbit/s instead of close to 1 Gbit/s. The performance also varies heavily depending on the time of day.. sometimes it gets much worse in the evening.
Another major issue is bufferbloat / loaded latency (sometimes ping over 100). During downloads or uploads, ping increases massively, which makes Teams calls, gaming and home office usage unpleasant. I have LAN in my appartment which replicates the speed of pluging in directly at the router. I have a sunrice internet box, but apparently cannot use my own router. Has anyone experienced something similar with Sunrise fiber or knows what could cause this? Could it be the Internet Box, apartment wiring, congestion, or something else?
Thanks!
