Sunrise website offers an upgrade of my "UPC Connect Box 2 to “Modem 2.5 gig”

Good morning,

I have seen this offer to upgrade my old UPC Connect Box to 2.5GB - my question is, from what I have read - I think it says DSL - so a bit confused - I get my connection through the old UPC cable connection.

Does this new box work on that as well, is it compatible etc.?

What connections are there etc. on the box

Also, does my ‘UPC Cablecom’ line provide a 2.5GB speed - or is it capped much lower??

Seems like Sunrise doesn’t make things easy to check up on.

DSL doesn’t support more then 512Mbit/s. For faster speeds you’ll need HFC (old UPC Cablecom) or Fibre.

If you go to the Sunrise website, you should be able to check on the available speed on your address.

in my case the result looks like this:

The house was build in 1986 and the cable has not been changed.

The Connect Box 2 supports 1Gbit/s Internet. In order to make use of the 2.5Gbit/s you’ll need a Connect Box 3 HFC and your own hardware has to support the 2.5Gbit/s too.

That’s a Fibre Connection. The fastet HFC is 2.5Gbit/s down with 100Mbit/s up. An upgrade to a Connect Box 3 HFC won’t do the trick.

Xydocq that’s what it says - OK I have UPC - I guess Sunrise has put fiber to the block of flats - I know no one with fiber in the building
