Upgrade to 1GB not working

Upgraded to new contract with 1GB, only only getting old speed of around 600Mbps. I was told there was no need to replace the router in order to increase internet speed. Is this correct or a new router is needed. Please be advise: MY CURRENT CONFIG IS IN BRIDGE MODE.

The Connect Box 1 is only good for 600Mbit/s. You will need to upgrade the router.

You can call the hotline 0800 707 707 and ask them to check your connection. Once they see you have an old Connect Box 1, they most likely will offer a free replacement.

Roberto6900 We have just initiated a free replacement of your modem. You will receive the new modem in the next few days. Please replace all cables and the power adapter with the new ones included in the package. After that, use LAN 4. This port offers 2.5 Gbps download speeds.

Please let us know afterward if you are achieving that speed.

The new router should be configured with the same protocol you’re using at the moment. You’ll have to enable Bridge Mode yourself. Factory default is Router Mode.

If that’s not the case and you get an IPv6 address. Come back here and ask for the switch to IPv4 or call the hotline.

Roberto6900 Yes, you can also enable bridge mode on the new router. The new modem has been switched back to IPv4, since we only initiated a replacement.

thank you. Actually I personally asked the person I spoke because I had a feeling it was only 600Mbps. I was reassured that Connect Box 1 was able to get to 1Gbps. Never mind, Daniele took care of it.
