Wifi settings cannot be changed, although logged in

Hello Community,

I just switched from ADSL to fiber and received the connect box 3. Nothing to complain about connectivity and speed, all works like a charm. However: although I can log into my connect box 3 admin panel using the password printed in the back, the wifi settings remain all greyed out and I cannot change anything. Other menus like DHCP or Port forwarding seem to work though.

I need to set-up different SSIDs for 2.4ghz and 5ghz (some legacy printer/iot devices can’t successfully connect to the 2.4ghz band when the same SSID is exposed on the 5ghz band), but as you can see in the screenshots: I can neither change the SSIDs, nor even turn wifi off entirely.

What am I missing here? Any help will be gladly welcomed.

Welcome to the community.

There are certain things you can try. First: reboot the Connect Box and see if you can change the settings once it’s running again. Make sure you disable the Channel Optimization before making any changes to the WiFi-settings.

If a simple reboot doesn’t solve the issue restore the Connect Box to factory defaults.

Channel Optimization needs to be disabled to set individual SSIDs.

Xydocq : many thanks for your answer, everything was indeed locked because of this “channel optimization” checkbox. I think I read that text ten times prior to asking for help here and never thought it could be linked with the solution.

The answer was indeed to uncheck this box, and all other wifi settings became accessible.
